Charles University’s online magazine iForum has won the national round of the Charlemagne Youth Prize 2014. The overall winner will be announced on 10 April.

The official CU online magazine iForum was created in 2003 and keeps visitors up to date with events at Charles University as well as featuring reports on university and student life. There is also an English version of the website; this mostly put together by international students of Charles University who, together with their Czech colleagues, write articles on key events both at CU and on the Czech and international scenes that are related to the university.

The year 2012 saw iForum getting a graphic makeover, with its typography and colours now matching the Charles University visual style. The redesigned website was now also compatible with tablets and smartphones.

The Charlemagne Youth Prize, to which the European Parliament and the International Charlemagne Foundation in Aachen contribute, is awarded to projects by young people between the ages of 16 and 30. On 10 April the European jury will select three winners from twenty-eight national winners from all Member States of the EU. These winners will receive monetary prizes of 5,000 EUR, 3,000 EUR and 2,000 EUR, as well as an invitation to visit the European Parliament in Brussels or Strasbourg.
