Charles University is hosting the 4EU+ Migration and Health Days, a highly-anticipated conference bringing together not only representatives of the university alliance but also key experts, policymakers, UN, WHO and NGO representatives. On Friday, Charles University wrapped up a fascinating two-day event, bringing together researchers, policymakers, educators, PhD students and administrative staff within the 4EU+ Alliance to explore the ever-growing impact of AI.

Representatives of the eight prestigious universities that make up the 4EU+ Alliance met over two days at CU this week to chart the course for the coming decade. CU, as one of the founding members, was a fitting venue for a meeting on the newest goals.

The 4EU+ university alliance, pooling the resources and talents of six public research universities (including Charles University) aims to revolutionise research and education.

Charles University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and in consultation with the EC, has taken part in the creation of the Eastern Partnership University Cluster. It includes universities from both the European Union and the so-called Eastern Partnership.

Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and Barry Sharpless were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their research on tools for building molecules. Their findings will contribute to the development of processes that simplify functional chemistry. 

Charles University, in conjunction with the French Embassy, the Education Ministry, DZS and Erasmus+, has just hosted a conference on the importance of university alliances. More and more, alliances are gaining recognition as crucial for universities in Europe.

Last month, the rectors of the 4EU+ Alliance established a new legal entity. The association, based in Heidelberg, aims to strengthen cooperation among all six member universities, says Charles University’s Vice-Rector for European Affairs Lenka Rovná.
