Jan Borek

Graduated in Musicology and Philosophy from Palacký University in Olomouc. Former contributing and managing editor of Harmonie magazine. As a music critic, he focuses primarily on contemporary classical and experimental music, while his academic research specializes on progressive rock from the 1960s to the present day, as well as the theory and practice of art criticism. Since 2024 he has been the President of the Czech Musicological Society and editor-in-chief of its Forum of Musicology journal.

Charles University hosted the annual CEDMO conference, bringing together researchers, investigative journalists, policymakers, political analysts, fact-checkers, and other professionals dedicated to analysing digital transformation, information sources and propagation – and disinformation.

Memory studies explores how societies relate to the past and how the meanings of that past evolve in the present. It takes a deeply interdisciplinary approach, and reveals unexpected implications for our present as well as future.
